3 September 2016 – First league games

By | September 4, 2016

Our first league games was played on the 3rd September with very windy conditions, and lucky for us, all 3 games were played at home. So we got to see some great ladies tennis as well as some mens singles and doubles.

We have to congratulate the mens singles and doubles teams for looking so good in their new matching shirts. Huge thanks to Leanne and Shane from Purple Circle for their effort in organising us the shirts with the embroidery.

Ladies Doubles VS Camps Bay – Ingrid(Captain), Charlene, Cassandra and Lizelle.

Cassandra and Lizelle set up their last game of the day with a convincing win. They demolished their opponents in 2 sets, well done ladies! Lizelle and Cassandra looked awesome in their matching outfits, go girls. The last ladies doubles match, managed to squeeze a win out of the last set where they won a tie breaker against Camps Bay. It was a very tense final set! Well done to Ingrid and Charlene on the win!

Mens Doubles VS Fresnaye – Ben(Captain), Eugene, Deon, and Barry

The mens doubles played against Fresnaye and as much as they were a decent side, our boys dominated and played superb tennis. They won all their games, with a final score of 11-0 to Monte Vista. Well played guys and you all looked amazing in your new shirt, keep it up.

Mens singles VS Parow – Voden(Captain), Manny, Charles and Clint

All the guys had some good tennis with Manny’s opponent having to pull out due to injury. It set the side up for a good start as Clint had already won his match and Charles had lost his singles. Voden then managed to pull a win from the hat against a tough young opponent. Monte Vista went into the doubles with a 4 win cushion, so the game was won on paper with 1 doubles to go. Manny and Charles played well but came up against 2 doubles specialists and it went down to the wire. Manny and Charles eventually lost 9-11 in the super set tie breaker, but what a nice game of doubles to watch. Voden and Clint’s doubles had to withdraw due to injury to one the Parow players. Monte Vista singles won the day 15-4, well played guys, good win.

Well done to Monte Vista with 3 out 3 win! Good start to the respective leagues!
