Social tennis club for all, on Tulbagh Street.
Five well-kept courts, competitive Saturday league fixtures, and the Northern Suburbs' favourite Saturday social session — Monte Vista Tennis Club has been a home for local tennis for over 50 years.
Over fifty years of local tennis, still growing.
Monte Vista Tennis Club has been part of the Northern Suburbs tennis scene for more than 50 years. Five decades on, the same spirit holds: a well-maintained set of courts, a calendar built around Saturday league fixtures and a Saturday social that regularly draws members from across Cape Town.
We're a members' club first — not a franchise or a corporate facility — run by a volunteer committee and staffed by people who genuinely love the game. Whether you're chasing league points or just want a relaxed knock-around and a chat afterwards, there's a place for you here.
- Five actively maintained hard courts, one floodlit for evening play
- Saturday league fixtures for competitive members
- Saturday social tennis open to all skill levels
- Newly launched coaching programme for juniors and adults
Five courts, kept in genuinely good condition.
Court maintenance is one of the committee's top priorities — resurfacing, net checks and floodlight servicing happen on a rolling schedule so play stays consistent year-round.
5 Hard Courts
Consistently resurfaced acrylic hard courts suited to both league and social pace.
Floodlit Evenings
One court is fitted with floodlights, extending play into the evening.
Clubhouse & Outside Area
A relaxed clubhouse with a covered outside area overlooking the courts — the social hub after every match.
Open Membership
Adult, family, student and social categories, so every level of commitment has a fair price point.
Two very different ways to spend a Saturday.
In league season, Saturdays carry both of the club's organised sessions: competitive fixtures for our squads, and an open, relaxed social for everyone else. The social runs every Saturday regardless, and during the week members simply book a court as normal.
League Fixtures
The club enters two league seasons a year, both scheduled by Cape Town Tennis. Mixed League runs from late January to early March, and Singles League from early September to early November — each with men's and ladies' doubles leagues alongside, for members not playing singles. Fixtures are on Saturdays and may be home or away, so check the venue before you travel.
The Saturday Social Session
Our biggest draw of the week, and it runs every Saturday of the year — in season or out, and whether the league squads are playing at home or away. From 1pm, courts are open on a round-robin basis for members of any standard — new faces are actively welcomed and quickly absorbed into a four.

Coaching, now part of the club.
We've recently launched a structured coaching programme covering junior development, adult clinics and private lessons — run by Hot Shot Tennis Academy.
It's designed to feed directly into league and social play, so improving players have a clear path from their first lesson to their first Saturday four.
